The first retrospective dedicated to this unique German artist.
This first retrospective dedicated to Thomas Schütte, a former student of Gerhard Richter, shows the tremendous creativity of this German artist. All of his works – whether in architecture, watercolours of bronze sculptures, give both a tragic and a comic side that raises questions, polemics and diverse emotions. By working on new forms, materials and using ancestral know-how or high technologies, Thomas Schütte gives food for thoughts differently and on a large scale.
An exploration of shapes mediums and topics in tragi-comic mood…
Thomas Schütte, Trois actes exhibition runs from March 15, 2019 to June 16, 2019, at La Monnaie de Paris, 11 Quai de Conti, 75006 Paris
